Daily tip #41| Coffee and caffeine

Is dirnking coffee bad, or good for you?

There are several factors to consider. Coffee drinkers are less likely to have type II diabetes, Parkinsons disease, demetia and also have lower risks of certain cancers. The coffee bean itself contains chemicals which are mild psychotropics. They are there as self-defense of the plant.
Coffee has been proved to increase short term recall too. It also helps lessen brain cell damage, and help neurotransmitters function better.

Coffee has a lot of antioxidants, more than blueberries, which is, frankly, quite a lot. Those antioxidants help boost your cells' reaction to insulin, and that helps with regulating sugar.

However, coffee has such effects as increased heart rate, blood pressure and irregular heartbeats, which is something to consider. Though, many argue that the antioxidants widen blood vessels, making the blood pressure problem irelevant.

If you simply want to stay up and fresh throughout the day, start a basic routine, drinking more water and sleeping better. I can guarantee that these will get you started on the right track of waking up fresh every day, add in solid nutrition and look, you're losing weight too!

I suggest drinking coffee, however, only in moderate amounts, definitely not 5 cups a day. When I need to, I drink coffee spaced out throughout the day, small amounts every two or two and a half hours, and I grind my own beans too - which I suggest you do too, it is the best way to enjoy coffee, no *bucks with a half cup of cream on top of your coffee - just the real thing.

Do not forget to drink a lot of water, not underestimate sleeping properly, stop making common mistakes to become happier!

Ah how I miss coffee. I used to drink multiple cups a day, but developed an allergy to caffine. Had to go through a very unpleasant withdrawal. It certainly did used to help more with getting up and going, but if you're alright without that, yeah, it's wise to drink only very little of it.

I like coffee but it makes me far too jittery! Maybe I should try decaf.

I like coffee maybe once a month. Not Folgers or anything though, actual ground 100% coffee, with maybe a dab of milk/ less but straight, two teaspoons of sugar at most and a long day ahead of me.

I couldn't possibly drink more than one cup a day.

I really love coffee but I can't drink it without any milk. I just find it too bitter for my taste.

Amazing the power of coffee, I read that the greatest danger is sugar.

I drink 2-3 big cup of instant coffee with milk and I never had any problems whatsoever; but I have a low blood pressure, ideal weight and I sleep pretty much the same each day.

I guess that people with normal blood pressure shouldn't drink coffee in the afternoon at all, because I know that some of my friends have problem with sleeping because of coffee.

I don't even know if what I drink can be considered coffee. It's more sugar and syrup than anything.

My fathers drink a lot of coffee, they've done it since I can remember, but for some reason I can't drink coffee without feeling terribly bad a few minutes later. I think my system can't deal with it, for some reason.

I practically chug large amounts of coffee constantly. I know this isn't exactly healthy but I can't help it, I think I'm addicted to it.

Very informative.. I have also read on an article that eating an apple has much better effects on keeping you awake than a cup of coffee. This is explained by your jaw movement when you're eating a fruit..

Coffee is the worlds best and most accepted drug.

That's why I drink 3 cups a day!

I have read that the calcium in milk has a binding effect on the antioxidants in both tea and coffee, so you are negating the majority of the healthy benefits by adding milk.

I don't agree that coffee is drug,at least i don't feel any drug effects.

If I skip a few days without coffee it really doesn't mean anything.
